Why Organic? |

The short answer is organic lawn care is the use of products derived from
previously living material or natural source fertilizers, coupled with
mechanical techniques and sound agricultural maintenance practices, to
maintain a healthy lawn.
Organic lawn care is a totally different approach to lawn maintenance. Your lawn is a living organism; the organic approach addresses all aspects concerning the health of your lawn, whereas traditional approaches address certain symptoms of an unhealthy lawn. A healthy lawn will overcome weeds easily, and be more resistant to weather conditions and insect infestations. Everything you do in an organic program of lawn care is aimed at the total, overall health of the living thing that is your lawn. First, and most obvious, the organic method is far safer for the environment than the chemical approach. Although chemical programs also produce a green lawn, they may have long-term costs we may not want to pay. There is an increasing body of evidence to suggest that the risks to health and environment associated with pesticide use are higher than we've been led to believe. If you are at all concerned about the ecology, then organic lawn care is the best option for you. Also, the organic method is better for your lawn, since it benefits the whole lawn system rather than addressing symptoms. Your lawn is a living organism, not just a green carpet. If your lawn is truly healthy and thriving, weeds and insects won’t stand a chance. |
